Implant Specialist /Instrument Inventory

Job DescriptionMaintains centralized surgical implant and instrument inventory. Receives, processes, and distributes instrument inventory requirements to System sites.1. Receives implants and spare surgical instrumentation from Health System sites. Evaluates condition, counts, and catalogs items in department inventory management system.2. Facilitates preventative/corrective maintenance and code imprinting of instruments with repair vendors.3. Enters and tracks all inventory activities in department inventory management system.4. Ensures inventory is properly stored in appropriate warehouse locations.5. Processes site inventory requests from spare inventory or new purchase requisitions.6. Performs regular audits of implant and instrumentation inventory to ensure accuracy. Addresses and resolves discrepancies, as needed.7. Participates in department quality control programs and in-service training, as required.8. May provide site support through coordination of workflow activities (Instrumentation Process, Prep and Package Area, Sterilization Process and Quality Assurance), as required.9. Performs related duties as required.* ADA Essential FunctionsQualifications* High School Diploma or equivalent, required.* Current Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST or CSPDT), required;(OR)Provisional certification (CRCST), to be obtained within first 6 months of hire, required.* CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist) or CSIS (Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist), preferred.* Prior related experience, required.* Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds, required. Manual dexterity, ability to stand, bend, lift and/or reach for extended periods of time, required.
