Attending Inpatient Psychiatrist

In partnership with NYC Health Hospitals/Lincoln our teams handle more than 550,000 outpatient visits, more than 144,000 emergency room visits and more than 22,000 inpatient admissions annually.

The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Weill Cornell Medical College .

Lincoln Medical Center’s Department of Behavioral Health provides comprehensive mental health services to individuals and families.

The department is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, licensed clinical psychologists, nurses, and social workers who work in collaboration to develop recovery plans tailored to meet the clients’ individual needs.

Services are provided through the Adult Outpatient and Inpatient Units and Child and Adolescent Outpatient Mental Health Services.

Comprehensive outpatient services include individual therapy, group therapy, bilingual therapy, medication management programs and assistance for clients with a severe behavioral health illness.

Special services are also provided through the Mobile Crisis Unit.

We are currently accepting applications and referrals for Psychiatrists to work in our Adult Inpatient Unit.

This is a full-time position with flexibility for part-time if desired.

The attending Psychiatrist for our Adult Inpatient Unit is responsible for the provision of compassionate and evidenced-based psychiatric care to patients in one of our 30 bed adult inpatient psychiatric units.

Responsibilities Provide a minimum of 40 clinical hours per week of inpatient care in accordance with PAGNY, department, LMMHC, Health Hospitals generally accepted medical practice and teaching.

Rounding and mentoring of clinical research projects with the residents and medical students as may be required.

Participate in off hour on-site department coverage and hospital-wide committees, as needed.

Provide appropriate training and supervision of psychiatric residents and students as may be required.

• Board certified in Adult Psychiatry (or Board Eligible & within 5 years of completing residency training)
• Completion of an approved psychiatry residency training program
• Eligible for NYS license and DEA An academic appointment is available with Weill Cornell along with the opportunity for supervision of Residents and Fellows.
