IN SHIRLEY, NY Develops, manufactures, and supplies high quality sterile injectable pharmaceutical drugs for healthcare providers, clinics, hospitals and veterinary practices across the United States and Canada. This position is responsible for providing maintenance support to the glass washroom production area for the Shirley, NY site. The position is responsible for assembling, setting up, troubleshooting, repair, preventive pyrogenation tunnels, vial capperssealers, conveyors, and other ancillary equipment in the glass washroom area. This position reports into the maintenance manager and is part the engineering department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of essential equipment and systems in the glass washroom. Conducting preventive maintenance on essential equipment and systems in the glass washroom Assisting the engineering department in development and execution of critical project related activities in the glass washroom Providing input and suggestions to the operational execution teams at site for making optional improvements Setup and teardown of the essential equipment in the glass washroom Routine adjustments to essential equipment in the glass washroom Perform basic repairs and fabrication of non-OEM spare part components such as guard, dead-plates, transition pieces, rails, brackets, and covers. Ability to troubleshoot and repair glass washroom production equipment Ability to perform inventory for spare parts and determine what is needed Perform any other tasksduties as assigned by management. Education Requirements and Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill andor ability required. High school diploma or equivalent required Vocational or trade school certification or Associates degree highly preferred. 2 yearsrsquo Experience in equipment maintenance field in a manufacturing environment 2 yearsrsquo Experience in basic welding and sheet metal fabrication preferred Familiarization and experience using basic maintenance shop equipment (drill press, hydraulic press, bandsaw, grinder, belt sander) Preferred cGMP andor related experience Understanding and experience troubleshooting and operating PLCs and automated controls Ability to work overtimeholidays and weekends as needed Physical Environment and Requirements Must be able to sit, walk, squat, bend over, lift, grasp, hold an stand Must be able to use basic maintenance hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, hammers, drills, screw drivers, etc. Must be able to wear and perform duties in the required gowning apparel Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as respirators, safety glasses, etc. as needed Employee must be able to occasionally lift andor move up to 50 pounds.
